I am a first time home buyer with a excellent credit score ( i was told it was like 790 or so) and was quoted at a 6% rate. Is that typical or is that high? Based on a 30 year fixed. Thanks!

I just filed for a 2 week extension on my escrow close date is there anyway to get out of paying the per diem?

I opened escrow June 25th & was originally going through Century 21 Mortgage & that’s who the preapproval letter was from. When I opened escrow they gave me a ridiculously high interest rate so I chose to go through another broker & and were able to get me a full point lower.

The new broker said she wasn’t able to get a bank approval because Century 21 mortgage wouldn’t release paperwork & they were holding onto the case #. She claims she was working w/the transaction coordinator to get the paperwork. The coordinator claims she was never contacted by the new broker.

I was originally told I would end up closing early because I provided all necessary information/paperwork the 1st day I met with the 2nd broker. My escrow was supposed to close tomorrow but I was just informed 2 days ago that I have to file for a 2 week extension. The problem is that apart of the contract was to pay $100/per day for each day over the escrow closing date. If I end up being charged by the seller is there a way I could make the broker pay it?
The 2nd broker is telling me that C21 kept the case file open & that has prevented her from moving forward. I have been working with her since June 30th which I thought was plenty of time. Does this make sense or is the 2nd broker just dragging her feet & causing the delay?
