URGENT!social security and schizoeffective? my husband has enough work credits. hes gotten really sick. we go to the phycologist,therapists,three times a week for the last 10 months. my husband hasnt got any better he on 7 meds and doctor is recommending ect shocks. my husband was denied social security in april so i appealed it. they said he was denied because with treatment he was getting better.....but all along all they been doing is increasing his doses and in and out the hospital...i find that really strange for them to even say that. okay ss says that someones illness has to cause death or last twelve month...SO WHEN DO THEY START COUNTING THE TWELVE MONTH THE DAY YOU APPLY OR WHEN??? DO THEY DECIDE WHEN THAT TWELVE MONTH STARTS??? this is soo hard for me. im handling all finances since november,we already lost a home im up over my head in bills car payment late.ss in az just a couple of weeks ago spend 700,000 for a retreat for all worker to have a weekend at a resort sipping on pina coladas by the pool while us hard working people in need wondering if i going to have a home to shelter our six children. no wonder theres alot severe mental and vetrans homeless they dont help, easy to take our money. i though social security was made up as insurance when someone became sick. why do they make it soo tough for us hard working people. i understand that there are people that lie and play the system and they get ss checks so how can someone with a real illness not get help. my husband does have all the qualifications to get ssdi how much more are they guna keep us suffering? its very hard for me to get up every morning having to see my children face and wondering if i can still afford the house im renting.THIS IS A AMERICA THE LAND FREE AND THE HOME OF THE BRAVE sometimes i dont feel free and brave the govt is making thing really tough for us americans, i feel trapped .....
