Need based aid for independent adults?

I am 24 and am looking at graduate study next year or so. I have been self-supported for a while and have a good deal of money saved up. Obviously when I start school again, I won’t be supporting myself since I’ll be a full-time student again and won’t be able to bring in the same money I did when I was a full-time salaried employee.

I guess my question goes out to anybody who has done this before or anyone with experience in financial advising. Since I am supporting myself and my income will no longer be a factor, will FAFSA and university financial aid departments take this into account when allotting scholarships, grants, and loans?

I really need some answers about the pell grant. Please…?

Ok so here it goes =] I am a community college student where I am going to get my AA degree next year. After that we will go to a university to get the next degree. Me and my fiance (we both go to the same college) were not eligiblee for for grants because we are not 24 yet and our parents were making too much money (even though we have not lived with our parents since after high school graduation).

Now our income is very small (I am not working and he is the only one making money and is a full time student) and we are getting married in November of this year and will become indipendant from our parents. Here are some of the questiones I have:

1) Will we both get a grant or ust one of us?

2) approx. how much would it be if we live in FL? ( omg we really need the money)

3) How long does it take to process the application after filed in january?

4) will the grant be just once or every year untill we go to school?

5) does it matter that we both have Bright Futures scholarships that cover 75% of cost in a University and 100% at our community college?
I mean I hope that it is not a factor.

Now bare in mind that we both are fresh out of high school and have no loans, debths, bad credit, or anything negative. The truth is we just really need the money to pay for our books (man they are so expansive) and some living costs, because it is so getting harder and harder for me to find a job and just living off of his salary.
