Why should we trust the government with our health care?

Written By: aaren on June 24, 2009 15 Comments

The federal government has never solved a single domestic problem.
The education system in this country has gone straight downhill since the federal government’s takeover (without Constitutional authority).
The communist welfare state programs have wasted over BILLION and have negligible benefits.
No government agency has ever operated successfully and within a right “budget”. Minimum spending requirements don’t count.
“Health care” is not mentioned in the Constitution of the United States, the document that grants the federal government it’s authority.
We can all see what just happened to the banking and mortgage industries.
Nothing the federal government has ever done has been done on time or within a budget.

Why should we trust the federal government to run our health care with socialist medicine?

We should NOT trust our Government in any involvement into our personal lives, period.

we shouldnt. the government has continually shown over its existence that they are incapable of providing efficient quality anything. I for one am not willing to entrust them with something that vital.

They've done so well with public schools, Veteran care, Social Security, Medicaid and Medicare….should I go on….why not hand over the health and well being of ALL Americans!?

Why should we trust the government with our Banking Care?

  7. IceT on: 24 June 2009 at 3:24 am

We shouldn’t and a excellent reason is because of the current credit crisis and the $800 billion bail out of rich banks because of government intervention and regulations and their poor oversight.

    You are right.
We should go back to the excellent ancient time health care that is described in the bible.
If it was excellent enough for Moses it is excellent enough for America.

The federal govt. does virtually NOTHING really well.
They typically collect our money, steal some, waste some, lose some, give some to their friends, hire other friends with it and the remaining 33% goes to the intended source, with the bureaucracy eating up half of what is left.

You’re a fascist. The state should act when the greedy corporations have failed in order to protect the unprotected – and you may well be unprotected too from the looks of current economic events, but from your speech I’m not sure the State should protect you personally. Face it, neoliberalism has gone down the drain, it failed and the world is going to change a lot. It’s not the socialists’ fault, it’s the neoliberals’ fault. That is not to say that the State manages things well. But when corporations manage everything even worse what can you do?

Don’t do it! Socialized health care is terrible! Just the other day I had to go to the doctor, and get this, he didn’t charge me anything! What a load of garbage, eh? And my prescriptions? They’re like twelve bucks every time. Where’s the justice? Who would want free treatment or medicine? Nope, if I were you I’d stick to paying the huge bucks. I don’t know why people reckon doctors shouldn’t make millions of dollars a year or why medical insurance companies shouldn’t also.

well lets look at the other gov't run social programs

    1) medicade
    2) medicare
    3) social security

Now what do they all have in common…Hum there all bankrupt!!!

so now lets hand over our healthcare to the gov't. Not only will that be another failed program, but the quality of US health care will go down. Why do you reckon in countries with free healthy care, when they need a major medical procedure they come to america to get it.

The only people who will benefit from universal healthcare, are bone idle people and people on welfare.

No one is advocating socialized medicine and I would be against if they were. To answer your question though, no I don’t reckon the government should control health care, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t have a role as far as regulations on drug and insurance companies.

I am a canadian citizen and I feel all you american ppl are panicking over a excellent thing. Yes we get taxed on everything..from food to gas to clothes to our paychecks from anything to everything we buy and even sell. At the same time all of our tax money goes back into the country to fix roads, improve education, help those who cant help themselves such as ppl on welfare(sending them to college for free) so they can get off the system and become self sufficient, care for the elderly in homes, meals on wheels and respite workers who ensure that those who are the independent elderly living in their homes are also taken care of. We also have free rehab centers for addictions as well as subsidized child care. We have free marrigae councelling. All of these add up and someone has to pay for it. Mind you our minimum wages are not $4.55/hour either our wages compensate for the taxes. The average minimum starting wage is 10-11/hour. After 80 hours and all the taxes you still bring home 700 every 2 weeks
